POSITION SUMMARY:

The Howard Hughes Corporation is searching forBartenders forCOMO Social Club at The Westin at The Woodlands hotel located in the award winning master planned community of The Woodlands, Texas 45 minutes north of Houston. The hotel features 305 guestrooms, concierge floors, and 15,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, two restaurants and 2 lounges. The area around the hotel is home to multiple Fortune 500 companies, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, shopping, dining and entertainment venues.COMO Social Clubbartender candidates possess a wide variety of drink knowledge , familiarity of worldly wines and food knowledge. Must be able to multi-task, while maintaining a professional demeanor towards guests and co-workers.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and perform job duties to the expectations of COMO Social Club
  • The Bartender is responsible for preparing drinks and cocktails, while providing a full-service dining experience to our guests.
  • Following standardized recipes and exhibiting proper pouring techniques.
  • Delivers food from the kitchen to the guest and explains food items to the guest.
  • The Bartender handles guest checks and related financial transactions. When needed, the bartender will act as a cashier to the Food Servers.
  • Complete side work as assigned.
  • Provide excellent service for our guests as defined byCOMO Social Clubstandards.
  • Offer guests an enjoyable, expertly served dining experience conforming to guidelines of excellence for quality, professionalism, and friendliness
  • Operate ethically to protect the image of COMO Social Club
  • Maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested by Management

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work in a cooperative and friendly manner with fellow employees, set a positive example.
  • Provide the highest level of guest service to the hotels clients.
  • Maintain professional attire and personal hygiene.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.
  • Read, understand and follow all policies, procedures and practices as stated in the Employee Handbook.
  • Implement the hotels safety and emergency policies and procedures (i.e. evacuation, first aid, etc.) to include removing all safety hazards, following companys OSHA program, safe lifting techniques.
  • Promptly report substandard (unsafe) conditions to Supervisor.
  • Promptly report accidents, injuries, property damage or loss to Supervisor.
  • Inform management promptly of any work-related problems or guest complaints.
  • Promote the hotel through goodwill, courtesy and a positive attitude.
  • Attend all scheduled training classes and meetings.
  • Continue to learn and grow in your position.
  • Perform any reasonable request as assigned or directed by management.
  • Provide for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
  • Assist person(s) with a disability.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws ordinances as they apply to the hotel, guest and employees.
  • Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates must be able to communicate in English fluently and in a professional manner.
  • The ability to communicate in Spanish is considered a plus.
  • Previous experience as an Apprentice Bartender or Bartender is preferred.
  • Candidates must exhibit wine, beverage and food knowledge.
  • Requires the ability to work efficiently and within a team environment.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend and lift for the duration of the shift. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any licensing or active work cards required, at present or in the future, for this position at all times.
  • Full-time flexible hours are required. Must be able to work breakfast, lunch, late nights, weekends and holidays.
